Ambient sound on this site

There are no audio files. The optional ambient sound (off by default) is generated in the reader's browser
at run time by this site's own code (src/lib/ambient.ts) using the Web Audio API: filtered brown noise with a
slow swell. No third-party or recorded audio is used, so no third-party licence applies. The generating code
and its output are dedicated to the public domain (CC0 1.0):

Behaviour: muted until the reader presses "Ambient sound"; a second press stops it. Under
prefers-reduced-motion the slow swell is disabled and the sound is steady and quieter. No sudden sounds.
